And like all dangerous tools it should <i>only</i> be used by children, under adult supervision. You wouldn't let a 14 year old run a bandsaw by themselves. You wouldn't give your car to a 14 year old. You wouldn't let your 14 year old roam the streets late at night. A 14 year old can't even see an R-rated movie! A 14 year old has no business on the computer by themselves. (Even worse is late at night in their room with a web cam) Stop blaming the big bad world and start <i>PARENTING</i> your children. (This should in no way be considered a defense for those predators that pray on children) A computer is a tool and like all tools it can be dangerous at times. And like all dangerous tools it should only be used by children, under adult supervision.

You wouldn’t let a 14 year old run a bandsaw by themselves.

You wouldn’t give your car to a 14 year old.

You wouldn’t let your 14 year old roam the streets late at night.

A 14 year old can’t even see an R-rated movie!

Another 16 year old girl intiated contact with a 20 something guy and hopped on a plane to meet him in his home country of Jordan. I have to admit that I'm becoming suspicious of how many of these incidents are intiated by adult "predators" and how many are initiated by the youth?
