I received an email from some people in Australia about some DVD they were putting together, and would I like to have my movie included. It took a minute (and reading it a couple of times) before I realized they were talking about the movie I uploaded to YouTube back in January.
They’re called MONKI, and their a street media company producing a bimonthly street DVD that includes a segment on interesting stuff from “the moving image industry.” The movie they want to include on their DVD is one I made called A Time to Forget, Pt. 1. It’s something I put together from a kernel of a story I had in my mind at the time, that in envisioned as a sort of gay version of The Handmaid’s Tale.
But rather than have me tell you the story, you can just see it for yourself.
I said yes to being included on the DVD, of course, once I got over the surprise. So, I’ll probably revisit the movie, clean up a few things that bothered me and then export a high quality copy for production purposes.
The folks at MONKI mentioned that they’d like to find out what happens in the sequel. Heh. I guess that’s what I get for making it “Pt.1.” I always thought there’d be more to the story. After all, we only heard from one half of the former couple. Plus I think that news anchor is going to figure into the story too. And then there’s the question of how it all ends. So, there’s enough there for a “Pt 2” and maybe even a “Pt. 3.” (Now that I’m thinking about it, NaNoWriMo is coming up again in November, and this story might make for interesting novelizing. That is, if I’m up to the task.)
So once the “director’s cut” of this one is “in the can,” so to speak, I’ll probably resurrect the virtual actors in a new game (they have long since aged and gone into retirement in the game I had going at the time) and see what unfolds. And since I got The Movies: Stunts & Effects Expansion Pack a while ago, maybe I’ll throw in a few stunts and special effects.
Anyway, I guess I’ve got more movies to make.
