That's a nice roundup, and I greatly enjoy your blog. Might I add the fact that most ( if not all ) of the "Faith Based" initiative funds disbursed under the Bush Administration's "Faith Based Initiative" have gone to Christian organizations that are predominantly on the Christian right ? Esther Kaplan, writing of visiting former FBA head Jim Towey's office, states that she was unable to find any grant that have gone to non-Christian organizations. In

There's a petition on the Dobrich incident that's being promoted by a coalition of groups and blogs. See:

One the "Left Behind : Eternal Forces" video game, you might want to read Jonathan Hutson's 8 part Talk To Action series on the game - which has received so far at least 300,000 site visits :

On Kevin Phillips - it's good that he has hopped on the bandwagon but Frederick Clarkson, Joe Conason, and a few others were writing on the growing threat of the Christian right over a decade ago. Not that it's bad Phillips has written "American Theocracy" - it's very good indeed. Given that you're becoming concerned about the religious right and the Christian right, the densest collection of inveterate Christian-right investigators, writers, and bloggers is almost certainly at Talk To Action ( http://www.talk2action.org ).

Also, you might enjoy "Christian Right Wrong On Gay Marriage In Massachusetts" ( http://www.talk2action.org/story/2006/7/13/14120/4811 ) given that you enjoy ( I do too ) comparing and contrasting Christian right claims on social issues with statistical data.

Best, BW

Terrance, great review - makes me want to spend the mortgage money and buy these books so that I can compare and contrast. Also thank you for the link re my recent post on GLBT candidates in Maryland.
