So nice to hear someone express their Christian identity outside of the construct of being anti-gay. So amazing that Jesus never said one word (dot or even tittle) about being gay, yet so many contemporary conservative US-based Christians find that the “gay issue” is the dividing line of what makes a proper Christian.

I look forward to hearing more voices like Hudson’s. Voices of reason (and a beautiful voice no less.)

well, at least she cut through the BS and got to the heart of the matter. i think it’s great that she feels comfortable enough to speak freely on issues that others seem to have to check with 3 or 4 managers and coaches to answer. i may catch Dreamgirls just for that, cuz i definitely wasn’t interested before. that she can think past religious ranting and glean a message of love from the bible (don’t ask me how) is impressive. i hope she does well.

Actually, it occurred to me that at least some of the people who equate being Christian with being anti-gay are themselves Christian, or at least claim to me.

I find it upsetting that some folks equate being a Christian with being intolerant of gay people. That may, unfortunately, be true for some, but it is not true for me.

I am Christian, and I am gay. I have many friends who do not understand how I can be both. These people are ignorant of Jesus and his teachings, much like the people who are Christian and anti-gay.

I think its just a journalist trying to dig up a story that really isn’t there.
