What was this guy talking about? Homosexuality has *NOT* always polarized societies. Throughout ancient China (with historical records dating back to 700 BC), for example, homosexual acts were considered neither a crime or immoral activity. There is another book "Sociolegal Control of Homosexuality: A Multi-Nation Comparison" by Donald James West and Richard Green which goes through the history of homosexuality in different countries.

If any religious views is purged from this discussion, it is curious how homosexuality can possibly polarize any society. Just because particular groups of people perform sexual acts with member of their own sex, it is hard to see how it might even affect other people who chooses not to take part in homosexual activities. Any attributes of homosexuality that Morris had mentioned (creativity, playfulness, etc.) would hardly polarize any given society. Adding religious views into the mix, however, these homosexual acts becomes a polarizing issue in society.

To that end, the Judaeo-Christian religion, from its inception, have always polarized society. Yet, it seems, no one sees it that way.

Let's not confuse popularity with science. Morris has always been considered a quack by serious scientists. (Trust me; I trained in physical anthropology). Not to mention that he was an advisor to what may very well have been the worst film in history: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lq5bUgTBUUs
