		<description>I've read somewhere, that legislation, by definition, a system in which the majority rules, and that it is up to the courts to protect the minority from being trampled over by the majority. I think, that is certainly the case here in California.

My partner and I are registered domestic partners in California for two years (it would be three years this December), and we're taking a wait and see position. We're not sure how big of a back lash the ruling will produce, not to mention the influence of this ruling on the Presidential race. We're already seeing  the anti-gay population mobilizing to pass constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

So, it's kind of exciting and scary at the same time. It's nonetheless sad to see, how many thousands of years of human history, we're still struggling with discrimination and prejudice against our fellow human beings.</description>
