I’m getting tired of wanting to write, and needing to write, but not writing because writing is not my job. Anybody know anyone looking to hire a writer?

So, make it your job. Begin small with projects such as writing guest letters to the newspaper. If you have a company internal newsletter, offer to write for that. Volunteer for nonprofits that might need writing done.
You need to get yourself, your work, your name out there. People looking for writers aren’t going to come knocking on your door.
Grow up and get real. It’s a competitive world out there. And,
unfortunately, everyone thinks he/she is a writer. Or wants to be.
Ha ha. Trust me: Truly GOOD writers are born, not made. They are gifted, just as truly good artists in any genre are born. And even though getting a degree won’t make you a writer if you have no innate talent, in today’s world, you just about need one. Or else a lot of experience in your field…..
I admit it. I'm a bit disappointed not to be among the nominees for the Best LGBT Blog in the 2008 Weblog Awards, but I blog a lot less often than I used to. Hell, I'm probably have the blogger I used to be. But at least some of the blogs I write for (when I write) have been nominated: The Bilerico Project and Pam's House Blend. Blabbeando, another great blog, is also nominated. Check them out, and cast your vote.
Not the best way to kick off the new year, but I won't be posting anything today. I've got a few things I'm working on, so there will be more to come. No matter how frustrating it is not to have time to make writing a priority, I cant give it up. Writing is as necessary to me as breathing. So, like a drowning man, I keep struggling to the surface...
If you're against capital punishment, there's at least one bright spot in the economic downturn. Executions are at a 14-year-low, in part because of the costs involved in the legal process leading up to execution.
I can't believe this story is still churning. Part of me wants to yell "Enough, already!" But part of me also wonders what else might be uncovered. Oh, wait. The "smoking gun" is another photograph. A few, actually. The suggestion is that she wore a fake baby belly and, I guess, was dumb enough to go out without it and let herself be photographed. OK. That's not a stretch. But neither is it a stretch that a 44 year old woman might have a Down's Syndrome baby. She's much more likely to do so than a 16-year-old...
Mark this day on your calendar: August 4, 2009. It may not all happen on that day, but it will mark 9 months since November 4, 2008: the day Barack Obama defeated John McCain in the presidential election. So, that would be "zero day" for the Obama baby boom.
Well, I'd hope so. Anyone stupid or careless enough to put an uzi inthe hands of an eight-year-old ought to be charged with something. The D.A. looking into "whether anyone committed a reckless or wanton act" by allowing the child to fire a weapon. Oh, I'd say that qualifies as reckless and wanton. If it doesn't, then nothing does.
I admit it. My first thought when I saw this was, "Honest, officer. I don't know what happened. I totally meant to hit the brakes. I guess my foot just slipped."
