The Other Shoe Drops
Never mind this guy.
If you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop in Iraq, it’s these guys you should be concerned about.
I know, I know. Reports are that threats of a coup are minimal, and the arrested officers have been freed, but combine this with the outpouring of support for Muntada al-Zaidi and his actions, and there’s enough to suggest that the mission of winning “hearts and minds” in Iraq is not quite accomplished. And that means it won’t be before Bush leaves office.
Put another way, if Bush had ditched his security detail, and walked through some of the neighborhoods outside the Green Zone, would he have been “welcomed as a hero”?
