Well, if the Senate is going to open its sessions with prayer, it should be open to all faiths. (There are Buddhists in Congress, after all.) So, even though I’m uncomfortable with mixing religion and government, I still think this is pretty cool. What I can’t figure out is how it happened to quietly and smoothly. Right-wingers lost their minds when a Hindu cleric made history by offering the Senate’s morning prayer. But then I remembered, CPAC starts today. I guess the right-wingers had somewhere else to be.
