It may be the height of lazy blogging, but here’s one more meme.

How evil are you?
I’m almost disappointed. I thought I’d turn out to be at least a little evil. (Maybe the problem is that I don’t often get caught at it…)

Sounds about right. Sorry for the dearth of posts here. I’ve just about given up trying to do much blogging on the weekends, and a four-day/holiday weekend is an even bigger blogging obstacle. So, I borrowed this meme from Pink Feminist Hellcat.
I’m also gearing up to my attempt to implement at “Getting Things Done”-type organizational scheme, in the hopes that doing so will alleviate some of the frustration and tension I’ve been having lately. Who knows? Getting even halfway organized might result in more time for other stuff, like blogging…
We’ll see.

This can’t be right.
It’s a cute bit of blog fun, but I have a feeling that if certain people entered their URLs, they’d ruin the curve for the rest of us. And, actually, after taking a look at the criteria for each level, I’m just a few incoming links away from getting busted back down to B-List, at the very least.
Cute, but not to be taken seriously if it’s likely you’ll be brought back down to earth, quickly.

I honor of a certain someone I know who turns four today, and who’s sharing strawberry cupcakes with strawberry icing (his choice, mind you) with his classmates right about now, here’s a bit of a departure from the usual random mix. This one’s nothing but dance music, because it’s a happy day. Still random though, so:
- Fire up your collection.
- Shuffle everything.
- Let’s see if you can count to ten.
I can. See?
- Beautiful (Al B Rich Next Level mix) from the album “Beautiful (disc 2)” by Christina Aguilera
- Beautiful Stranger (Calderone Club Mix) from the album “Beautiful Stranger” by Madonna
- Popcorn (Diplo Remix) from the album “Verve Remixed 3″ by Diplo & Walter Wanderley
- Found a Cure (Full Intention club mix) from the album “Queer as Folk: The Whole Love Thing. Sorted. (disc 1)” by Ultra Naté
- Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know (Thunderpuss Radio Mix) by Britney Spears
- Lady Marmalade (Thunderpuss club mix) from the album “Lady Marmalade (feat. Lil’ Kim, Mya & Pink)” by Christina Aguilera
- Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here from the album “Fired Up!” by Deborah Cox
- I’m Beautiful Dammitt! (House Mix) from the album “The Groove Won’t Bite” by Uncanny Alliance
- I’m Not Perfect from the album “12″ Single (Vinyl)” by Grace Jones
- All I Do from the album “The Mix Summer 2006 (disc 3)” by Cleptomaniacs
Can you?

Whoops. A day off, and lunch with my husband, threw off my blogging rhythm today, so I forgot the Friday random ten post. I’m doing something a little different with it today, though. I’m kicking it off with a song that’s been in my head since election day. So it’s not entirely random, but here goes anyway. And if you want to mix it up a little, start yours with a song that this election brings to mind for you, and share it in the comments.
- Fire up your music collection.
- Shuffle it.
- Deal me ten.
Here’s mine.
- A Change Is Gonna Come from the album “The Man And His Music” by Sam Cooke
- Unconditional Love from the album “The Donna Summer Anthology (disc 2)” by Donna Summer
- All In Love Is Fair from the album “Innervisions” by Stevie Wonder
- Miss Me Blind from the album “The Very Best Of” by Culture Club
- Let The Good Times Roll from the album “An Evening With The Queen” by Koko Taylor
- Take a Bow [Edit] from the album “GHV2″ by Madonna
- Mercy Street from the album “Shaking The Tree” by Peter Gabriel
- Mistake No. 3 from the album “Waking Up with the House on Fi” by Culture Club
- Love Train from the album “Wake Up Mix” by O’Jays
- Raisin’ The Stakes from the album “Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub)” by Groove Armada
Actually, at second glance, there may be a few more titles in there that are appropriate to this year’s election. Any jump out at you?

It’s that time again, to bring out the meme that momentarily clears the air of all the political talk and writing that goes on around here. With November 7th looming in the background, it’s probably needed even more than usual. I’ve already voted. The hubby and I got absentee ballots and put them in the mail a few days ago. Nothing to do now but wait.
I don’t know about anyone else, but after the last couple of elections, I don’t plan on watching any returns. I don’t want to know anything until I wake up on the 8th and check the news, because I don’t want to go to bed thinking it went one way only to wake up and find out it went the other way. So, I’ll either go to bed early, or turn off the television and turn on the music. Speaking of which…
- Turn on whatever your music lives on.
- Randomize everything.
- Share the first ten.
Here’s my results.

This might be a little morbid, but since we started the day with a playlist and it’s Halloween it seems appropriate. Besides, I’ve been wanting to do a post like this since I saw this article about the most popular songs at funerals.
[James] Blunt’s song ["Goodbye, My Lover] was closely followed by pop singer Robbie Williams’s song Angels, according to a survey released Monday by the Bereavement Register, a group that works to remove the names of the deceased from direct mailing databases.
The group said that 51 per cent of people have considered a specific song to be played at their funeral. Also, 79 per cent have discussed the choice of song with family or friends.
The poll surveyed 5,000 people and, rather than unearthing a slate of dirges or elegies, turned up a list of mostly contemporary picks. …

You Are Most Like George W. Bush

So what if you’re not exactly popular? You still rule the free world.
And while you may be quite conservative now, you knew how to party back in the day!

This test is flawed, obviously.

Lately I’ve wished there were one or two more of me, just to deal with various aspects of my life. (It’d be easier to just get pulled in a couple of directions as opposed to half a dozen.)
But I wasn’t thinking about a number as big as 15.
Hmmm. If I had a more common name, there’d be even more.

There’s one story I haven’t touched all week: the torture compromise. I stayed away from it for two reasons: (1) because it was already thoroughly covered by every major progressive blog in existence, and (2) I got tired of blogging about torture it once realized that a majority of Americans supported it anyway. Turns out I was almost right. Nearly half of Americans support the use of torture. Oh well. I can take some comfort in knowing that the entire House delegation from Maryland voted against torture, including the Republicans.
Torture. That’s who we are now. That’s what we want. Might as well enjoy the music.
